Toyota Crown vs Toyota Rav4

Toyota Crown Signia vs. Toyota RAV4 Comparison Test

The 2025 Toyota Crown Signia and 2025 Toyota RAV4 are both mid-size, hybrid-powered Toyota SUVs. The Toyota Crown Signia is based on the Toyota Crown Sedan platform, while the Toyota RAV4 has been a staple in the Japanese car company’s lineup since it launched in 1994.

While the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is only available as a hybrid, the 2025 Toyota RAV4 is available with a range of drivetrains, including a hybrid option. But which of these Toyota SUVs is best for Mobile, Alabama drivers? Let’s take a closer look!

Toyota Crown Signia vs. Toyota RAV4: At a Glance

With its sedan-based platform the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is longer and lower than the 2025 Toyota RAV4, which maintains a more traditional SUV shape. It has more interior passenger room than the RAV4 and premium interior features. Some might say it’s the more luxurious and stylish of the two models.

The RAV4 is slightly more off-road capable than the Crown Signia and offers more cargo space thanks to its higher roofline and boxier shape. It is the more affordable of the two options, aimed at more adventurous buyers who enjoy an active coastal Alabama lifestyle.

Trim Level Comparison

This is one of the trickier Toyota SUV comparisons to consider because the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia is only available in two trim levels, while the 2025 Toyota RAV4 is available in many.

The two 2025 Toyota Crown Signia Trims are:

  • 2025 Toyota Crown Signia XLE: The feature-rich entry-level Crown Signia with heated and ventilated seating plus premium 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia and a base MSRP of $43,590.
  • 2025 Toyota Crown Signia Limited: The fully-loaded option with stylish 21-inch wheels, panoramic moonroof and 11-speaker JBL® Premium Audio including subwoofer and amplifier

While the 2025 Toyota RAV4 trim levels include four conventional engine options and seven electrified variants beginning with the 2025 Toyota RAV4 LE Base level FWD at $28,850 MSRP, all the way to the fully loaded 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited at $40,205 MSRP.

RAV4 Hybrid is also available as the off-road-ready 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition with TRD-tuned off-road suspension and bronze-spoked rims with all-terrain tires.

Fuel Economy & Performance

Both of these Toyota SUVs sport the same base engine, a 2.5-liter inline-four engine, but the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia has a slightly more powerful electric motor and larger battery. This gives it a total system horsepower of 240 HP, 21 HP more than the RAV4 at 219.

The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited is lighter than the Crown Signia though, and so it gets better fuel mileage with an EPA-rated 39 MPG combined for the RAV4 and vs 38 for the Crown Signia.

Safety & Technology

Both the 2025 Toyota RAV4 and the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia come with Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0, which offers industry-leading driver aids and active safety systems to make Alabama roads safer. The key difference is in driver comforts and interior features, with the Crown Signia getting a larger infotainment screen plus standard heated and ventilated seats. The RAV4 has a smaller, 10.5-inch infotainment screen.
